The three degrees offered by the Faculty of Philology on the A Coruña campus can be combined with each other to obtain a double degree with one more year of study. One of the possible combinations is to study the degree in Spanish: Linguistic and Literary Studies with the degree in Galician and Portuguese: Linguistic and Literary Studies.

This simultaneity program, unique in the Galician university system, consists of 324 credits. As the first two courses are already common to the three degrees that are studied in this faculty (Galician-Portuguese, English and Spanish), it is in the remaining three years when the compulsory subjects of each of the degrees involved in the program are concentrated simultaneously. In addition, the selection between 40 optional subjects in 4th and 5th year allows customizing the final itinerary of each student.

The double degree expands and reinforces the work options of the students who complete this simultaneity program: teaching in the public and private spheres (academies, colleges, institutes, language schools, foreign university lecturers), linguistic and sociocultural advice, dynamization and standardization linguistics, translation, preparation or correction of texts, etc., in work environments of the media, publishing houses, institutions and offices and cultural management.

The degree in Data Science and Engineering, taught at the Faculty of Informatics, is one of the most recent additions to the academic offer of the University of A Coruña (academic year 2019-2020). It responds to the high demand for professionals in data processing to help make decisions at a scientific, business, political or administrative level. It is one of the few existing in the Spanish sphere and the only one in the Galician university system.

The advancement of new technologies and the development of massive data processing require highly qualified professionals with multidisciplinary skills and training in the fields of computing, mathematics, statistics and business. The curriculum combines training in subjects such as mathematics and computer science with advanced management of new digital information and communication technologies (statistics, artificial intelligence, autonomous learning….)

The most relevant professional profiles in this field are the data scientist, focused on data analysis to extract values from them, and the data engineer, more focused on infrastructure management to make the analysis process possible.

Degree in Electrical Engineering

The degree in Electrical Engineering is studied at the Polytechnic University School, on the Industrial campus of Ferrol. It is the first degree in the Galician university system that allows dual training, in such a way that the fourth and last year of the degree can be taken with an academic training module or with one of paid training in a company.

In the dual training itinerary, the company is jointly responsible for the student's training in coordination with UDC and under the supervision of two tutors from the university and the company. In the degree, in addition to the basic subjects (physics, calculus, chemistry, etc.), subjects such as materials science, thermodynamics, resistance of materials, facilities, circuits, plants, automation, transport of electrical energy, automation, graphic engineering or technical office are studied.

In addition to the classic sectors of generation and transportation of electrical energy (design of power plants, wind farms, solar energy, transformation centres ...) and design of facilities, graduates in Electrical Engineering (regulated profession) can work in the application of technological advances in the energy system, in new mobility and transport systems with vehicles and electric infrastructures, in the design of an efficient city and, in general, in the development of the concept of intelligent energy in all areas.

The simultaneity program of the degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) and the degree in Law includes subjects from both curricula and allows to obtain both degrees after completing 402 Credits (six years). Students complete their training with a professional profile specialized in two complementary disciplines.

Thus, ADE subjects are studied, such as business economics, microeconomics, accounting, statistics, public finances, market research, financial planning, etc., along with others corresponding to the degree of Law (financial, commercial, procedural, criminal law, the European Union, constitutional, work, business, family ...), until completing 72 credits per year, with the exception of the sixth, which consists of 36 credits, twelve of which correspond to the works end of degree.

Professional opportunities multiply when graduates have two degrees.
