Access

Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.

Applications

Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.

The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission

Access: In general, in order to access the Doctorate in Law programme, it will be necessary to be in possession of official Spanish Bachelor's degrees, or equivalent, and University Master's degrees.

Regarding the recommended entry profile, those students whose training has been developed entirely in the legal branch will have preferential access to the Doctoral Programme:

Bachelor's Degree in Law + Master's Degree in Law. The Master's Degree in Law will be valued in percentage terms with 60% of the total score to be obtained. The Bachelor's Degree in Law will be valued in percentage terms with 40% of the total score to be obtained. In the second instance, those students whose training is included in the legal-social branch, but is not legal in the strict sense, such as Business Administration and Management or Sociology, may also enter the program and, when necessary, other merits may be assessed subsidiarily, such as average academic records, officially accredited knowledge of foreign languages, or additional non-regulated training derived from Congresses, Courses, etc.

Specific access requirements of the CAPD

The application for admission will be made through the student's Virtual Secretary and the supporting documentation will be delivered to the UADI of the Faculty of Law. In particular, interested parties must submit a letter of motivation, indicating the personal and professional justification for applying for admission to the programme, the type of dedication that is expected to carry out the thesis (partial or complete) and the line of research, among those mentioned in this document. as well as the commitment of a professor to supervise the doctoral thesis, if applicable.

The CAPD will publish the provisional and final list of admitted students on the doctoral programme website on the UDC studies portal.

Claims to the provisional list will be addressed to the UADI of the Faculty of Law.

The application for part-time enrolment, change of enrolment modality and temporary withdrawal from the programme must be submitted to the UADI of the Faculty of Law.

Deadlines

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
