The Master's degree provides comprehensive training that covers every stage of the video game development process, from initial concept to market launch. You will learn how to:
Our goal is to help you become a versatile and creative professional who is ready to excel in this ever-growing sector.
The skills acquired through the Master's Degree in Video Game Design, Development and Marketing are applicable in a wide range of professional environments, including video game development studios, technology companies, digital communications agencies, audiovisual production companies, and innovation departments. Students who have mastered skills in design, programming, art, user experience and interactive product management can integrate into multidisciplinary teams and participate in all phases of digital project development. These skills are also applicable to emerging sectors such as virtual and augmented reality, virtual production, simulation, serious games and gamification, where demand for creative and technical professionals continues to grow.
The two-year Master's Degree in Video Game Design, Development and Marketing is a face-to-face programme that aims to reproduce the entire industrial process of creating a video game, from initial conceptualisation to market launch, in an academic setting. The curriculum is organised so that students progressively advance through all stages of development, combining theoretical and practical training with teamwork. The languages used for teaching are Spanish and Galician.
In the first year, students focus on project feasibility, design and planning, preparing a comprehensive Game Design Document to inform subsequent development. In the second year, students address the processes of production, implementation and marketing, using game engines and professional tools. The programme culminates in a final project for the Master's degree and an internship in a company.
The programme is designed to accommodate a variety of profiles, both technical and artistic, fostering multidisciplinary teams that mirror the real-world environment of the sector. To this end, the degree offers two optional specialisations:
Students can choose to specialise in one of these areas or combine them to suit their interests. Thanks to this flexible structure, students can develop complete projects without having to master all areas, making use of the resources available in commercial engines. The programme culminates in the creation of a functional, professional-quality prototype, preparing students for their entry into the sector.

UDC holds student mobility agreements with universities and other third-level institutions across four continents. Students are offered several opportunities each year to apply to study abroad in one of these centres (for a single term or for a whole year), with the guarantee that all credits obtained will be duly recognised in their academic record upon their return.
For each round of applications, the University publishes the list of exchange options available to students and, where relevant, the specific conditions associated with each. Students may also apply to the University for funding for international work experience placements and internships.
Work experience placements are accredited in the student's academic record and the European diploma supplement. Students are free to decide in which host company or academic institution within the EHEA they wish to carry out their placement. To assist them in their search, the University has created an online noticeboard with jobs postings and other news.
Work-study placements in A Coruña are arranged by the International Relations Office (ORI) of the UDC in collaboration with the international relations coordinators in the student’s home university. The general entry criteria, rights and obligations of students, and admission and acceptance procedures for the programme, are regulated by the UDC Mobility Policy.
