Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.
The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission
The entry profile establishes the previous training requirements of the students to be admitted to the program. In general, anyone in any of the following situations may be admitted to the programme:
· Branch of knowledge: Health sciences, social and legal sciences.
· Field(s) of knowledge: nursing; physiotherapy, podiatry, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, optics and optometry and speech therapy; medicine and dentistry; behavioral sciences and psychology; biomedical sciences; Education Sciences.
· Competencies, skills and prior knowledge: basic aspects of research.
· Access qualifications: qualifications linked to the aforementioned areas of knowledge.
· Recommended language skills for carrying out these studies: Spanish level B1, English level B1; Galician Celga level 3.
PROGRAM-SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
To be admitted to the program, the following two mandatory requirements are established:
· Submit a letter of reference from the teaching staff of the programme. It is a mandatory requirement for admission to the program to present a letter of reference from a professor of the program. This letter must endorse the viability of the future thesis within the research line of the program and, in addition, the professor must meet the necessary requirements to assume the direction of the thesis, if relevant
· Knowledge of languages. Students must have a minimum knowledge of English equivalent to level B1.

list of accreditations recognised by the UDC Language Centre for the different levels

Applications and registration for PhD programmes will be made using the online application system on the UDC website, accompanied by all necessary supporting documents. Applications and registration for external students will be made here.

Specific access requirements of the CAPD
The selection of students for admission to the programme will be made based on the following criteria:
· Academic record (70%), determined by master's degree, DEA or research proficiency qualifications. Preference will be given to students who have taken any of the Master's degrees directly related to the POD:
o Master's Degree in Chronicity and New Models of Health Care at the UDC,
o Master's Degree in Healthy Ageing and Quality of Life from the ULE/UPV-EHU,
o Master's Degree in Physiotherapy in the Neurological Approach of Children and Adults at the UM
o Master's Degrees from USAL: Master's Degree in Intervention for People with Alzheimer's Disease; Master's Degree in Neurosciences, Master's Degree in Communication Disorders: Neuroscience of Hearing and
language; and in the Master's Degree in Support Treatment and Palliative Care in Cancer Patients.
· In this line, permission will be requested from the coordinators of these Master's Degrees, directly related to the POD
· Previous research experience and its results (20%). Publications, contributions to conferences, etc., and their suitability to the lines of research of the programme will be assessed.
· Professional experience (5%). Professional experience (contracts, scholarships, etc.) related to the lines of research of the programme will be valued.
· Knowledge of languages (5%). Knowledge of English at level B2 or higher will be valued.

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
