Pese a que el título está pensado para estudiantes que aspiran a continuar su formación académica con estudios de doctorado, también contempla una formación de alto nivel útil para, por ejemplo, puestos de alta dirección en empresas y/o instituciones públicas y privadas o profesiones de libre ejercicio en el ámbito del asesoramiento especializado económico-empresarial. Se trataría de formar a personas altamente cualificadas, con espíritu crítico y capaces de emprender y desarrollar iniciativas empresariales propias.
Formamos profesionales que tendrán que desarrollar su profesión en contornos caracterizados por su complejidad y dinamismo. En este sentido, se combinan una robusta formación en el campo teórico económico con una orientación práctica que hace del curso una opción atractiva para el estudiantado que desee orientar su vida profesional a la empresa.
Este máster interuniversitario da acceso a cualquier programa de doctorado competitivo a nivel nacional o internacional. Además de esto, los titulados en el MiE estarán capacitados para realizar un trabajo profesional que requiera conocimientos económicos avanzados y métodos econométricos de aplicación en las distintas áreas de la administración pública y de los sectores económico-empresarial público y privado.
Existen convenios con diferentes empresas y entidades públicas para la realización de prácticas curriculares.
En el primer cuatrimestre se deberán cursar las materias obligatorias, comunes a todos los itinerarios, y en el segundo cuatrimestre se cursarán las materias optativas de especialización, las prácticas en empresas y el trabajo de fin de máster (TFM). Cada especialidad se compone de 6 materias de 3 créditos ECTS cada una. Para que un estudiante pueda ver reflejado su itinerario de especialización en la expedición de su título deberá haber cursado, al menos, cuatro de las seis materias ofertadas en el itinerario correspondiente, pudiendo completar su expediente con, como máximo, otras dos materias del resto de especialidades.

UDC holds student mobility agreements with universities and other third-level institutions across four continents. Students are offered several opportunities each year to apply to study abroad in one of these centres (for a single term or for a whole year), with the guarantee that all credits obtained will be duly recognised in their academic record upon their return.
For each round of applications, the University publishes the list of exchange options available to students and, where relevant, the specific conditions associated with each. Students may also apply to the University for funding for international work experience placements and internships.
Work experience placements are accredited in the student's academic record and the European diploma supplement. Students are free to decide in which host company or academic institution within the EHEA they wish to carry out their placement. To assist them in their search, the University has created an online noticeboard with jobs postings and other news.
Work-study placements in A Coruña are arranged by the International Relations Office (ORI) of the UDC in collaboration with the international relations coordinators in the student’s home university. The general entry criteria, rights and obligations of students, and admission and acceptance procedures for the programme, are regulated by the UDC Mobility Policy.
