Access

Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.

Applications

Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.

The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission

The student will have previous training in the field of health sciences and/or verifiable professional or research experience in the field: Graduates in Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Pharmacy, Biology, etc.

Specific access requirements of the CAPD

The Academic Committee (CAPD) agreed that in order to study the applications, they must comply with the following requirements:
  • 1. The application for admission must provide a preliminary draft of the thesis endorsed by a doctor (A reference template can be downloaded on the programme's website: www.doctoradosalud.udc.es
  • 2. At least one of the directors must be part of the doctoral programme, the list of which can be consulted on the website
  • 3. The preliminary project proposal must be attached to one of the lines of research established in the doctoral programme that can be consulted at the programme management
  • 4. Directors must prove that they meet the requirements established to be able to supervise theses according to the REDUDC using the established form. If this accreditation is already available at the UADI (administrative unit in charge of the Program), it is not necessary to submit it again, as is the case with all the professors of the program.

For the selection of students, the Academic Committee will assess the applications according to the following scale:

  • 1. Research proposal (0-5.5 points). The proposal for the topic of the thesis presented, the viability of the project according to any of the lines of research of the program and the possibility of the appointment of a thesis management will be assessed. A minimum of 4 points will be required to be admitted to the program.
  • 2. Obtaining research grants (2 points).
  • 3. Research and/or professional experience in any of the work areas to which the lines of research of the doctoral programme are oriented (1.5 points).
  • 4. Academic record and mark of the master's degree if the previous degree is in accordance with the programme, weighted according to the affinity to the lines of research of the programme (1 point).

Deadlines

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
