The degree provides the student with the necessary knowledge to successfully integrate into any of the different areas related to the naval sector, mainly including those necessary for the design, construction and repair of ships and oceanic devices of all types (offshore platforms, power generation systems, aquaculture facilities, etc.), as well as for their inspection.
This degree qualifies for the regulated profession of naval technical engineer (order CIN/350/2009) with the professional attributions of the current Naval Technical Engineer, both in the speciality in Marine Structures and in Propulsion and Ship Services. This degree gives access to the Master's Degree in Naval and Oceanic Engineering that qualifies for this regulated profession (Order CIN/354/2009).
The geographical location of the EPEF in the city of Ferrol, with a long tradition in the naval sector, allows the professional and research activities carried out by the professors of the degree to be closely related to the industrial sector, favoring University-Business interaction and allowing students to learn about research applied to the maritime sector of first international level.
The professional opportunities of the graduate in Naval and Oceanic Engineering are very numerous, and cover all fields of the naval sector. Thus, they allow professional development in:
The EPEF has more than 200 agreements signed with companies from all industrial sectors, of which the most relevant are:
The curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Naval and Oceanic Engineering is structured in four courses, with two semesters per year. In each semester, five subjects are ordinarily studied.
The degrees are organized by courses. Click on a academic year for more information.

By now, the study does not have departments responsible for teaching.
UDC holds student mobility agreements with universities and other third-level institutions across four continents. Students are offered several opportunities each year to apply to study abroad in one of these centres (for a single term or for a whole year), with the guarantee that all credits obtained will be duly recognised in their academic record upon their return.
For each round of applications, the University publishes the list of exchange options available to students and, where relevant, the specific conditions associated with each. Students may also apply to the University for funding for international work experience placements and internships.
Work experience placements are accredited in the student's academic record and the European diploma supplement. Students are free to decide in which host company or academic institution within the EHEA they wish to carry out their placement. To assist them in their search, the University has created an online noticeboard with jobs postings and other news.
Work-study placements in A Coruña are arranged by the International Relations Office (ORI) of the UDC in collaboration with the international relations coordinators in the student’s home university. The general entry criteria, rights and obligations of students, and admission and acceptance procedures for the programme, are regulated by the UDC Mobility Policy.
