Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.
The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission
The entry profile establishes the previous training requirements of the students to be admitted to the program. In general, anyone in any of the following situations may be admitted to the programme:
- Branch of knowledge: Social and legal sciences
- Field(s) of knowledge: Physical activity and sports sciences, Biomedical sciences, Medicine and dentistry, Nursing, Biology and genetics, Physiotherapy, podiatry, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, optics and optometry and speech therapy
- Bachelor's degrees in the fields of Health Sciences and Physical Activity (Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biology, Medicine, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy,...)
- Master's degrees in the fields related to Health Sciences and Physical Activity. The master's degrees of the universities of the programme that give access are:
- University of A Coruña: Interuniversity Master's Degree in Research in Physical Activity, Sport and Health; Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching. Specialization in Experimental Sciences (Physical Education); Master's Degree in Health Care and Research.
- University of León: Master's Degree in Sports Training and Performance (access with the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences); Master's Degree in Physical Activity: Creation, Recreation and Well-being; Master's Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching. Specialty in Physical Education; Master's Degree in Research in Social and Health Sciences (access with the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy).
- University of Extremadura: Master's Degree in Teacher Training in Secondary Education (access with the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences); Master's Degree in Initiation and Performance in Sport; Or Master's degrees comparable or similar to those mentioned.
- Recommended language skills for carrying out these studies: knowledge of at least one of the official languages corresponding to each university in the programme.
Cases that do not fit the admission profile will be studied by the CAPD, which may or may not proceed to admission, and establish specific training complements

Specific access requirements of the CAPD
PROGRAM-SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.
- Letter of reference from the teaching staff of the programme. It is a mandatory requirement for admission to the programme to submit a letter of reference from a lecturer of the programme that i) endorses the potential viability of the future thesis within the framework of a line of research of the programme to which it is linked, and that ii) can act as a supervisor if the necessary requirements are met.
- Knowledge of languages. Students must have language skills in Spanish and/or any other official language of the University in which they are enrolling, and a minimum knowledge of English equivalent to level B1, as it is the common language of scientific communication in the field of the thesis.
Foreign students from countries outside the official linguistic fields must accredit a minimum knowledge of Spanish and/or Galician equivalent to level B1. In the event that they can only communicate through the foreign language that is commonly used for scientific communication in the field of the thesis, the program must ensure their supervision and supervision of the thesis in that language.

Program admission criteria. The selection of students for admission to the programme will be made based on the following criteria from a scale consisting of 6 sections (with a value of 6 points each):
- Academic degree(s) that give access to the Doctoral Programme (6 points). Their affinity with Human Health and Motor Skills will be assessed.
- Academic training (6 points). The average grade of the academic record of the degree(s) that give access to the Doctoral Programme will be assessed, as well as the end-of-degree, bachelor's or master's degree awards.
- Complementary training (6 points). The complementary training process followed by the student will be assessed regardless of the official Bachelor's/Bachelor's/Master's degree studies (mainly other regulated university degrees and different from those of the previous sections, followed by non-regulated university training courses and additionally non-university training).
- Professional experience in the areas of Health and Human Motor Skills (6 points). Accredited professional experience in the field of health, recreational physical activity, physical education or sports training and performance will be valued.
- Other merits (6 points). Accreditation of collaboration with research groups recognised by the different participating universities, or the carrying out of research activities (scientific publications, collaboration in research projects/contracts, research grants, communications at scientific conferences, etc.) will be preferred.
Accreditation of knowledge of languages and mastery of new technologies will also be valued.
In order to be assessed, merits must be documented and consistent with the lines of research of the programme. The same admission criteria will be applied to all students, both full-time and part-time.
