Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering

2025/2026 · 240 credits

Introduction

The degree in Industrial Technology Engineering is taught at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF) on the Esteiro Campus. The EPEF was born in 2021 as a result of the merger of the two engineering schools in the city, the Polytechnic University School and the Higher Polytechnic School, with more than 50 years of experience in training in the field of engineering and centers from which a good part of the engineers who provide technological support and direct the companies that make up the industrial framework of Galicia have emerged.

This engineering, the most generalist of those taught, allows professionals to be trained with the ability to design, build, maintain and manage industrial equipment and facilities.

Future industrial engineers acquire extensive knowledge in the different areas of this engineering: mechanical, electrical, electronic, chemical, energy engineering, environmental engineering, automation, materials, industrial organization, production, design engineering, construction engineering and industrial installations, automotive engineering and transport engineering.

It is a career with a very high level of labor insertion, due to the multidisciplinary breadth of the fields in which they can develop their profession. They are integrated into production, quality, logistics, R+D, planning, etc. They carry out work such as the design of new materials, the design and operation of renewable energy parks, both marine and terrestrial, hydraulic power plants, nuclear power plants, fuel cells, bioclimatic constructions, etc.

Why study

A race without stopping... In four years we train highly qualified professionals who are prepared to access a labour market of very high demand with a multitude of fields of action, and who can later continue their training through direct access to the Master's degree in Industrial Engineering.

A fascinating profession... It carries out work such as: design of new materials, design and operation of wind farms, hydraulic power plants, fuel cells, alternative fuels or bioclimatic constructions, among other aspects.

Practical training in companies...  You will be able to carry out internships within a wide range of contracted companies that cover practically all sectors of our profession.

Small teaching groups... Classes are taught in small groups, thus allowing personalized attention to the student body that is not easy to find in other more crowded universities. In addition, the synergies that are generated between teachers and students of the different engineering courses taught on campus result in a net benefit in the training of future graduates.

Life at the Esteiro Campus... The offer of student accommodation in Ferrol is very wide and in general it can be considered that the cost of living is lower than in other cities that offer these studies
