The PhD programme in Statistics and Operations Research is an official inter-university degree offered jointly by the three public universities of Galicia. Its objective is to train researchers in the area of statistics and operations research, so that they are able to carry out a doctoral thesis and develop a subsequent academic or professional career in this scientific field.

Decision-making in today's world, in which large masses of data are available, makes it necessary to use increasingly sophisticated statistical and mathematical tools, which must be developed by experts such as those trained in this doctoral programme.
