The Doctoral Programme "Civil Engineering" is organised by the E.T.S. of Civil Engineers of the University of A Coruña and involves the departments of Mathematical Methods and Representation and Construction Technology of the UDC, with the collaboration of the Galician Civil Engineering Foundation (FICG) and the Centre for Technological Innovation in Building and Civil Engineering (CITEEC) of the UDC.
The ETSICCP of the UDC is the only centre in the university system of the autonomous community of Galicia in which postgraduate studies in the field of Civil Engineering are taught. In particular, the Doctoral Programme in Civil Engineering has always been and continues to be unique in its field in the university system of the autonomous community of Galicia.

Civil Engineering is one of the most important sectors of our economy in which multinationals with capital and management cadres from our country are among the most competitive, profitable and technically and technologically advanced companies in the world. This privileged position is due both to the training traditionally provided in the large Engineering Schools and to the permanent commitment of Engineers to research, development and innovation at the highest level.
As is well known, large civil engineering projects are extremely complex and have very large budgets, so investment in research in this field has a very high return in terms of profitability and capacity to address more ambitious challenges. Research, development and innovation at the highest level in Civil Engineering are, therefore, priority lines of action at the present time.
