Introduction

The Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign and Second Language (MELE) is a joint programme offered by the Universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo. Its aim is to address the academic, scientific and professional needs associated with the teaching of Spanish as a foreign and second language by providing specialised training for both professional practice and research. The programme responds to the growing demand for qualified professionals in a context shaped by the international expansion of Spanish and its cultural, social and economic relevance.
