2023/2024

Access

Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 15 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.

Applications

Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.

The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission

In general, the University Master's studies that will allow entry without training complements will be:
  • Master's Degree in Disability and Dependency (UDC).
  • Master's degree in Healthy Aging and Quality of Life (ULE).
  • Master's Degree in Neurological Physiotherapy for Children and Adults (UM).
  • Master's Degree in Intervention for People with Alzheimer's Disease (USAL).
  • Master's Degree in Neurosciences (USAL).
  • Master's Degree in Communication Disorders: neuroscience of hearing and language (USAL).
  • Students with the DEA degree from the UDC PhD program "New trends and applications in the healthcare field" will also have access without the need for supplements.

    Other profiles:

    Students with another type of profile different from the previous ones may access, as long as it is considered appropriate by the CAPD, which will evaluate each case individually.

    The possibility of requiring additional training (maximum up to 15 ECTS) will be considered. The CAPD will assess the suitability of the training of candidates who prove that they have passed at least 60 ECTS in another official Master's degree when, after the preferential admission of students, there are vacant places.

    Recommended personal profile:

    That students show interest in research in the field of Disability and Dependency from any of its aspects (Psychosocial intervention, Functional rehabilitation, etc.).

Specific access requirements of the CAPD

In addition to compliance with those described in chapter V of Access and admission to doctoral studies of the Doctoral Studies Regulations of the University of A Coruña, the CAPD of the Doctoral Program in Health, Disability, Dependency and Well-being establishes the following requirements specific:
  • In the event that the demand for students exceeds the number of places offered, the CAPD of the program will carry out a selective process in which the candidate's curriculum vitae will represent up to 40% of the maximum score, while the academic record will represent the another 60% of that score. Special consideration will be given to candidates who accompany their application with a thesis project commitment that includes considerations about its feasibility.
  • In the event that the student lacks sufficient prior training in the field of Disability and Dependency or in research methodology, admission may be conditional on passing specific training complements.

Deadlines

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
