Access

Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.

Applications

Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.

The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission

The profile corresponds to those who wish to carry out their doctoral thesis in the field of linguistics or Galician, Portuguese or Spanish language, as well as Spanish sign language (LSE), or even in the field of some other language. The program will be of interest to both national and foreign students. Since the organizing universities are strategically positioned to offer studies on Spanish, Galician and Portuguese, Portuguese-speaking students may find the Linguistic Studies doctoral program an excellent option to develop their research.

Specific access requirements of the CAPD

The application for admission will be made through the student's Virtual Secretary and the supporting documentation will be delivered to the UADI of the Faculty of Philology. The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme (CAPD) will make a selection of the applications submitted based on the following criteria: - Transcript - Other merits of the curriculum vitae Academic Committee Coordinator José M. Carmen Cabeza Pereiro (UVigo) Alexandre Rodríguez Guerra (UVigo) Xosé Manuel Sánchez Rei (UDC) Joaquín Sueiro Justel (UVigo) In the event that the documentation provided is insufficient in the opinion of the CAPD, you may request a personal interview to complete the information Enrollment in the full-time program will be prioritized. The CAPD may establish specific criteria for the completion of the part-time doctoral programme. The CAPD will publish the provisional and final lists of admitted students on the website of the doctoral programme on the UDC studies portal. Claims to the provisional list will be addressed to the UADI of the Faculty of Philology. The application for part-time enrolment, change of enrolment modality and temporary withdrawal from the programme must be submitted to the UADi of the Faculty of Philology.

Deadlines

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
