Specific access requirements of the CAPD

Program admission criteria. The selection of students for admission to the programme will be made based on the following criteria:
  • Endorsement of a director with accredited research experience (50%).  The highest score will be awarded to the fact of presenting the endorsement of a professor of the program, with accredited research experience, linked to one of the lines of research according to the preliminary thesis project presented. It will be a requirement for admission to the program to obtain a score of at least 30% in this criterion.
  • Academic record (20%), determined by the most favourable weighted average grade of the undergraduate or postgraduate degrees studied, weighted according to affinity to the lines of research of the doctoral programme.
  • Obtaining scholarships or predoctoral research contracts (10%).
  • Professional experience and previous publications (10%). Publications (preferably originals and reviews) indexed in JCR (10%) and SJR (5%) and their suitability to the program's lines of research will be valued.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language (10%): only assessable from a level equal to or higher than B2 or equivalent.
In order to be assessed, merits must be documented and consistent with the lines of research of the programme. The same admission criteria will be applied to all students, both full-time and part-time.
Documentation to be submitted for the assessment of admission and merits by the CAPD. For the assessment of
merits by the CAPD, the following documentation must be submitted, published on the program's website (https://www.doctoradosalud.udc.es/admision/):
  • Preliminary thesis project, endorsed by at least one professor of the programme, or an external one, with accredited research experience and justification of the contribution to the existing lines of research
  • Where appropriate, form from the directors or co-directors accrediting that they meet the requirements established to be able to supervise theses
  • Copy of ID card or passport
  • A collated copy of the official university degrees that give access to doctoral studies. The facility's administration can check the documentation when it receives it
  • Official academic certification of the studies completed
  • Where appropriate, certification from the competent body of having obtained a positive evaluation of specialized health training, for at least two years, in a program to obtain the official degree of one of the specialties in Health Sciences
In the event that a selection of students is made because the demand is greater than the number of places offered, students will be asked to submit an abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CV) that includes the points included in the criteria of the scale.
