Introduction

The Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering offers a solid and up-to-date education in one of the technological fields with the greatest impact on modern industry. It is a practical degree program with a presence and applications in most of the strategic sectors of our country, such as robotics, automation, transportation, energy, industrial instrumentation, and smart systems.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Automation Electronics Engineering qualifies graduates for the regulated profession of Industrial Technical Engineer (Orden CIN/351/2009). In addition to career opportunities, following the alignment of degree programs with the European Higher Education Area, this degree provides direct access to, among others, the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (Orden CIN/311/2009), an academic degree that qualifies graduates for the regulated profession of Industrial Engineer.

This degree is offered at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF) on the Campus de Esteiro. The EPEF was established in 2021 as a result of the merger of the city’s two engineering schools, the Polytechnic University School (EUP) and the Higher Polytechnic School (EPS), which together have more than 50 years of experience in engineering education.

Why study

Access to Key Industrial Technologies

This degree program covers enabling technologies for Industry 4.0, such as robotics, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart systems, and additive manufacturing, among others. In addition, the program includes specialized modules in control engineering and power electronics—essential skills in the industry—as well as energy management and electric mobility.

High professional demand

This is one of the degree programs with the highest employment rates. Its multidisciplinary nature and the versatility of the graduate profile open the door to a wide range of career opportunities, both in traditional industrial sectors and in emerging fields.

Practical training focused on real-world cases

The degree program combines a scientific and technological foundation with a strong practical focus. The EPEF features state-of-the-art equipment and full-scale industrial facilities in its laboratories, allowing students to tackle real-world engineering challenges throughout the program.

Small teaching groups

Classes are taught in small groups, providing personalized attention to students. This is a feature that is hard to find at other, more overcrowded universities and represents a significant benefit for the education of future graduates.

Life on Campus de Esteiro

Campus de Esteiro is located in the center of Ferrol. There is a wide range of student housing options in Ferrol, and the cost of living is generally lower than in other cities that offer these programs.
