Programa de simultaneidad del Grado en Ingeniería Mecánica y el Grado en Ingeniería Naval y Oceánica

2026/2027 · 328 credits

Introduction

This Simultaneity Program is taught at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF) on the Esteiro Campus. The EPEF was born in 2021 as a result of the merger of the two engineering schools in the city, the Polytechnic University School and the Higher Polytechnic School, with more than 50 years of experience in training in the field of engineering.

The simultaneity program opens the possibility of obtaining, through a specifically designed itinerary with 5 years of duration, two bachelor's degrees with professional competences in technical engineering:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering ⇒ Link
  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval and Oceanic Engineering ⇒ Link
This programme has specific regulations (⇒ Link) that include, among other aspects:
  • The itinerary with the courses to be taken for each degree.
  • The minimum number of credits in each enrolment.
  • The recognitions that will be applied and the time at which they will be effective.
  • The procedure for leaving the programme and choosing to finish one of the two degrees.

Teaching is delivered in Spanish and Galician.

Why study

Simultaneous Program unique in Spain... It is the only possibility in all of Spain to obtain the two degrees following a program structured in 5 academic years. The double degree increases the job opportunities that each of the degrees already have due to the knowledge of two branches of engineering with a great relationship that will increase with the development of offshore applications.

Fully integrated into the business sector... Due to its strategic geographical location, the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol, and therefore the degree, is located in an autonomous community (Galicia) and a city (Ferrol), in which the naval sector, in all its aspects, is of enormous importance. All the participants in it, from the fishing sector, shipbuilding, construction and repair, the military, the civil administration or large port facilities, are present in the region.

Practical training in companies... You will be able to carry out internships within a wide range of contracted companies that cover practically all sectors of the profession.

Small teaching groups... Classes are always taught in small groups, with no more than 50 students in the theoretical presentations and a maximum of 20 in the practical sessions. This allows for personalized attention to students that is not easy to find in other more crowded universities. In addition, the synergies that are generated between teachers and students of the different engineering programs taught on campus result in a net benefit in the training of future graduates

Life at the Esteiro Campus... The Esteiro Campus is located in the center of the city of Ferrol. The offer of student accommodation in Ferrol is very wide and, in general, it can be considered that the cost of living is lower than in other cities that offer these studies.
