The doctoral programme in Mathematical Methods and Numerical Simulation in Engineering and Applied Sciences is an official university degree, taught jointly by the three Galician universities, which trains researchers in the field of mathematical modelling and numerical problem solving that arise in different industrial and business fields. In addition to the participating doctors from the three universities, it has the collaboration of 13 companies and technology centres, which propose research topics of great relevance and topicality.

Nowadays, with the rapid evolution of engineering and applied sciences, the need to train specialists in the modeling and numerical simulation of processes that come from the industrial or business field is evident, to promote from the University the transfer of knowledge and the incorporation of doctors into the R+D+i departments of companies and institutions. with training aimed at optimising processes and services, reducing costs, improving product quality, designing new technologies, increasing safety, reducing environmental pollution, etc.
