Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.
Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.
The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.
See also UDC PhD Policies and Regulations, Article 5: Applications.
In general, students who have completed a Master’s degree within the fields of Health Sciences and Sciences, and in the disciplines of Biomedical Sciences, Biology and Genetics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry, Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, may be admitted to this doctoral programme without the need to undertake additional training.
Holders of diplomas, bachelor’s degrees or master’s degrees with experience and/or specific interests in the different areas of Neuroscience may also be admitted, subject to prior evaluation by the CAPD, provided that they meet the general requirements for access to PhD studies. Applicants who do not demonstrate the required competences for admission will be required to undertake complementary training.
For any other profiles, the CAPD will assess applications on an individual basis and may admit candidates, establishing additional training where necessary. In cases where applicants lack the prior training required for the programme, admission may be conditional upon successfully completing the complementary training established by the Academic Committee. These additional requirements may not exceed 15 ECTS credits.
Applications and registration for PhD programmes will be made using the online application system on the UDC website, accompanied by all necessary supporting documents. Applications and registration for external students will be made here.
