Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.
Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.
The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

The Interuniversity Doctoral Programme in Logic and Philosophy of Science is designed with the aim of fundamentally meeting the demand of current university graduates who wish to receive additional specialisation or research training and who have completed a Master's Degree related to the field of Logic and Philosophy of Science. students from foreign university systems who wish to pursue Doctoral Studies in our country, and professionals with university degrees who decide to update their knowledge and skills or modify their profile. Our students are expected to be from the following degrees:
‐ Graduates in Philosophy (graduates who have completed a master's degree related to the DP or Doctors who wish to change their profile).
‐ Graduates in the area of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science (Graduates or Doctors who have completed a Master's degree related to the DP).
‐ Graduates in the area of Social Sciences and Philologies (Graduates or Doctors who have completed a Master's degree related to the DP).
It is necessary for the researcher in training to be able to correctly read philosophical and scientific texts at least in Spanish and English.
Additional requirements:
a) To accredit by means of an official certificate the academic performance in the Bachelor's Degree or Degree and in the Master's Degree of origin.
b) The master's degree taken must be in the area of logic and philosophy of science or social studies of science and technology. It must be an official master's degree. In exceptional cases, the academic committee may approve admission with a related master's degree as long as it is accredited that the subjects taken provide the knowledge and skills in the area of logic and philosophy of science and can serve as the basis for the completion of the doctoral thesis in accordance with the project presented.
c) Submit a proposal for a research topic chosen according to the established model (available on the website of the doctoral programme)
d) Submit a Curriculum Vitae
e) Attach the acceptance by a professor of the doctoral programme to supervise the thesis.
f) The student must have a B2 CEFR level of knowledge of Spanish and English.

The criteria for evaluating the applications will be as follows:
a) Adequacy of the alleged qualification for the entry and average of the academic record in the bachelor's degree (or bachelor's degree) and in the master's degree. Adaptation is understood to be a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a master's degree in the area of logic and philosophy of science, or social studies of science. Maximum of 25 pts
b) Average of the academic record in the bachelor's degree (or bachelor's degree) and in the master's degree. Maximum points
c) Professional experience (developed inside or outside the university, in public or private centres related to education, research or management) relevant to the lines of research in the area: Maximum 10 points
d) Completion of courses, participation in conferences, publications, (related to the profile of the areas of the doctoral programme), stays at other Universities (Erasmus, Sicue, etc):, etc: maximum 25 points
The candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 points
The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
