Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.
The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission
1. Holder of an official Spanish degree or equivalent, and University Master’s degrees or equivalent in the areas of Philology, Translation and Interpretation, Humanities, Communication , Social Sciences and Sociology, Political Science and Government Studies, Infant Education Teaching, Primary Education Teaching, Social Education and Pedagogy, History and Philosophy.
2. Holders of Diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA) or Research Credential in English Studies/English Philology or similar.3. Students in any of the following situations who fulfill the specific requirements of these studies :a. Holder of official university qualification in a member country of the European Higher Education Area and which allows the holder to be admitted to a Master, at least 300 ECTS credits between all the official university studies completed, at least 60 must be at Master’s level. b. Graduate and holder of an official Spanish degree certificate, consisting of at least 300 ECTS credits. These graduates must necessarily take the bridge courses required by the programme unless the curriculum includes research training credits equivalent in terms of training value. c. Holder of a foreign degree without the need to seek official accreditation, after the verification by the university that this accredits a level of education equivalent to the Spanish official qualification of Master's Degree and entitles the bearer in the issuing country to access to doctoral studies. This admission does not imply the prior accreditation of the qualification that is held by the applicant or the recognition of said qualification for purposes other than those of access to doctoral studies. d. Be a holder of another Spanish doctor’s degree which has been obtained under earlier university regulations.4. Students who have commenced doctoral studies under earlier university regulations may access doctoral courses if they hold general requisites or with diploma or qualification with 300 ECTS credits, at least 60 at master’s level.

Specific access requirements of the CAPD
Applications for admission must be made through the Virtual Secretary on internet and documents should be hended in to the UADI in the Faculty of Philology. The CAPD will publish the provisional and definitive lists of students who have been accepted on the Doctoral Programme website in the Studies portal of the UDC. Appeals lodged against the provisional list must be sent to the UADI in the Faculty of Philology. Requests for part time studies, for changes in matriculation method and temporary absence must also be presented before the UADI in the Faculty of Philology.
Deadlines
The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
