Access

Students who meet some of the criteria listed in Article 4 of the UDC PhD Policies and Regulations will be able to access to UDC PhD programmes.

Applications

Candidates matching one of the general entry requirements for PhD students will be assessed in accordance with the specific criteria and merits for each programme. Information relating to application procedures and requirements are included in the programme structure for each course.

The decision to offer a student a place on a UDC PhD programme is the result of an application-specific evaluation process, and does not affect the academic or professional status of the candidate’s existing qualifications.

Recommended profile of admission

The entry profile establishes the previous training requirements of the students to be admitted to the program. In general, anyone in any of the following situations may be admitted to the programme:

  • branch of knowledge : Arts and Humanities and Sciences
  • field(s) of knowledge : Architecture, construction, building and urban planning, and civil engineering; Gender Studies and Feminist Studies; History of art and artistic expression, and fine arts; History, archaeology, geography, philosophy and humanities; # Cultural industries: design, animation, cinematography and audiovisual production. Competencies, skills and prior knowledge: Those specific to the areas of knowledge indicated.
  • Access qualifications : People with a degree in Architecture, Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (degree in extinction), Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Studies. Exceptionally, doctoral students with other degrees related to Architecture and Urban Planning will be admitted to the judgment of the Academic Committee.
  • Recommended language skills for carrying out these studies: Mastery of one of the languages designated as official by the Programme.
  • if they have not completed a master's degree, have equivalent training in research credits or have completed at least 300 ECTS of research training directly related to the programme, the indicated training complements may be carried out, if the academic committee so deems.
  • have earned the DEA degree in programs similar to this doctoral program.

Cases that do not fit the admission profile will be studied by the CAPD, which may or may not proceed to admission, and establish specific training complements

Specific access requirements of the CAPD

Admission and enrolment in the Doctoral Programme will be carried out in accordance with the regulations established for this purpose by the University of A Coruña. The access requirements will be those indicated in the aforementioned regulations and, in addition to the documentation required by the University of A Coruña, the student must submit the following documentation:

  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Letter of motivation, in which the student must explain the reasons why they wish to enrol in this Doctoral Programme, and indicate the topic in which they would like to carry out their doctoral thesis (specifying the line of research they would like to join and proposing a professor from the programme as a tutor)

The application for admission (or registration renewal) and enrollment in PhD studies will be carried out according to the terms approved by the Governing Council of the UDC.
