Sociology is dedicated to studying the evolution of contemporary societies and to analyzing how the social processes that take place in them affect human behavior, the interaction between individuals and personal trajectories. At the same time, it accounts for how people's actions, experiences, and opportunities are determined by their position in the social structure and depend on socially constructed categories, such as social class, gender, and ethnicity.
It is a perfect degree for those interested in the reflection and interpretation of social, political and economic conflicts, with analytical skills and who are willing to interpret and organize both numerical data and field and documentary research.

The Bachelor's Degree in Sociology at the UDC has a consolidated track record. The curriculum has undergone the necessary changes to meet European standards and adapt to professional needs.
We have an elaborate internal system that ensures quality and puts into practice active advice to students, offering support to design their professional paths. Participatory spaces are developed with the students in which their assessment of the quality of teaching is taken into account and transferred to the annual improvement plans.
The Faculty has three research groups focused on the study of international migrations, social, labor and educational mobility (ESOMI), geographical and territorial inequalities (GET), and socio-political analysis and foresight (LAPSO).
The specialisation of our teaching and research staff allows us to maintain a wide range of optional subjects during the fourth year of the degree, focusing on specific aspects of society such as: the consequences of globalisation, labour market trends, the future of organisations or the current manifestations of social inequalities.
If you are interested in internationalizing your academic career, we have multiple agreements with European universities through the Erasmus + program and bilateral agreements with American universities.
We have agreements with the main local entities to carry out curricular and extracurricular internships and to actively participate in the implementation of their social intervention programs.
The final degree projects have clear empirical components, the results of which revert to the applied field and can be publicly defended in international forums.
