Introduction

This master aims to train professionals in tasks related to marine biology and to improve the training of those already engaged in these activities. Its objective is to train research personnel for incorporation into scientific research centers in marine biology or to join research teams at corporations and public or private organizations.

Why study

Marine biologist are in charge of many tasks in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture. For example, they work assessing/monitoring stocks for the administration, as advisors for private companies and NGOs, analyzing information from remote sensing systems, or as researchers. Research work may have a number of aims beyond the advance of our knowledge about the functioning of marine ecosystems. Thus, marine research also focuses on monitoring the environmental quality of the marine realm or on developing new biological resources.
