Study Master's Degree in Extended Reality (2025/2026)

Introduction

This master's degree in Extended Reality —with a duration of two academic years— provides students with the knowledge for the development and implementation of immersive application solutions in the industrial, health and tourism sectors among others, whose demand is growing steadily.

Even so, 83% of companies in Spain say that they find it difficult find profiles that suit their needs. At the design stage of the training plan of this master's degree, the feedbak of more than 20 companies from all over Spain, specialized in XR, has been collected. This has helped to fine-tune the contents to include and corroborate that the proposed profiles of graduates fit their needs.

The master's degree is taught at the Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería de Ferrol (EPEF) on the Esteiro Campus. The EPEF was born in 2021 as a result of the merger of the city's two engineering schools, the Escuela Universitaria Politécnica and the Escuela Politécnica Superior, with more than 50 years of experience in training in the field of engineering.

Why study

This is a technical, applied, and interdisciplinary master’s program that utilizes agile techniques in project development.
Students work in teams, collaborating with their peers to hone project management skills, both in individual participation and in organizational and leadership roles.
The program emphasizes the practical application of immersive technologies in real-world scenarios.
There are two specializations: Advanced XR Technician and XR Experience Designer.
The program includes internships, facilitating entry into the workforce.
Classes are condensed into two afternoons per week.
