Why study

The tourism industry plays a crucial role in the generation of employment, wellbeing and wealth not only in Galicia and Spain, but also throughout the world. With more than 50 years’ experience in higher education, CENP was the first centre to introduce Tourism Studies in Spain. It is also an affiliate member of the United Nation’s World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), and an active member of the UNWTO’s Knowledge Network. The Degree in Tourism offers students the chance to acquire transversal and multidisciplinary skills and knowledge, as it covers a wide range of academic areas, including economics, foreign languages, geography and ICTs, as well as sector-specific fields such as travel and transport, the hospitality industry, cultural heritage and tourism resource planning and management. Tourism is an essentially multicultural industry, and students will be provided with the opportunity of obtaining an international vision of an innovative sector immersed in a process of constant change, obtained not only in the classroom, but also through international student mobility programmes and the School’s extensive programme of work placements in private and public institutions and companies in Spain and abroad. This combination guarantees a real insight into the sector that will stand students in good stead for their future careers.
