The fundamental objective of the degree in Chemistry is for students to acquire the knowledge that a chemist must have in order to achieve the professional skills as described in the Professional Colleges of Chemists, (Decree of 9 March 1951, Order of 10 January 1952 and 9 December 1961, Act 2/1974 of 13 February, Act 7/1997 of 14 April, Royal Decree - act 6/2000 of 23 June, Royal Decree 3428/2000 of 15 December) allowing those with the qualification to work professionally as a Chemist.

The future of Chemistry has only just begun, taking into account its infinite possibilities of development, which demand the continuous appearance of new chemical specialties. Furthermore, it plays a central role in the progress and welfare that we enjoy, developing new products and technologies that affect all fields of society, thus becoming one of the pillars of a country’s competitive skills.
