Conocimientos específicos de gerontología clínica y social, con el fin de incorporar profesionales en el campo de la investigación gerontológica, tanto en organismos públicos como privados y empresas. Además de adquirir conocimientos de investigación para estar en condiciones de comenzar la tesis doctoral.
Capacidad de coordinación y gestión de los recursos sociosanitarios dirigidos a las personas mayores, capacidad de valoración e intervención en las principales patologías de las personas mayores, así como en los principales síndromes gerontológicos, capacidad para su integración en los recursos sociosanitarios como profesionales de atención directa. En relación a las habilidades de aprendizaje que le otorgarán: la capacidad para elaborar y desarrollar proyectos de investigación, capacidad para estar en condiciones de desarrollar una tesis doctoral del ámbito clínico.
El MIG facilita el acceso a los estudios de doctorado. En este sentido, una vez finalizada la tesis doctoral, el alumno, además, adquirirá las siguientes competencias aplicadas otorgadas por el título de Doctor: la capacidad para desarrollar y dirigir proyectos del investigación, la capacidad para dirigir tesis doctorales, la capacidad para participar en convocatorias públicas como Investigador Principal de Proyectos, la capacidad para incorporarse a Equipos de Investigación como Doctor.
El envejecimiento poblacional en que están inmersas España y Galicia en prticular, constituyen un importante nicho trabajo que que en la actualidad y en el futuro inmediato demandarán la incorporación de profesionales debidamente cualificados.

UDC holds student mobility agreements with universities and other third-level institutions across four continents. Students are offered several opportunities each year to apply to study abroad in one of these centres (for a single term or for a whole year), with the guarantee that all credits obtained will be duly recognised in their academic record upon their return.
For each round of applications, the University publishes the list of exchange options available to students and, where relevant, the specific conditions associated with each. Students may also apply to the University for funding for international work experience placements and internships.
Work experience placements are accredited in the student's academic record and the European diploma supplement. Students are free to decide in which host company or academic institution within the EHEA they wish to carry out their placement. To assist them in their search, the University has created an online noticeboard with jobs postings and other news.
Work-study placements in A Coruña are arranged by the International Relations Office (ORI) of the UDC in collaboration with the international relations coordinators in the student’s home university. The general entry criteria, rights and obligations of students, and admission and acceptance procedures for the programme, are regulated by the UDC Mobility Policy.
