Introduction

The official Master degree in Nautical and Maritime Transport aims to reach the highest academic level of specialization for mariners, as well as to provide the degree of specific formation and training that should accomplish a graduate of technological, juridical or economic areas to be unrolled professionally in the sector of maritime business.

Among the subjects it is included advanced training in integral management of the on-board safety, maneuvering and navigation, management of the maritime business and inspections. These studies provide a profile of specialization in the area of technical activity that, in addition, will open the possibility to continue formation towards doctorate and research.

This degree will allow to fulfill all the requirements for training that are demanded in the International Agreement STCW78/95 for the professional practice as Master, provided a previous Degree in Nautical Engineering

Why study

Core curriculum is designed following the international regulation that governs the formation and training of the professional seafarers, leading to a highly demanded professional market that offers the possibility of exercising activities in any place of the world and in very diverse sectors of the area of the maritime transport.

It qualifies, together with the Degree in Nautical Engineering, for the level of Master. It enables those graduates from other technological degrees to obtain specialized formation which is of direct application in wide sectors of the maritime business activity.

The Faculty staff is composed by highly qualified professors, with deep experience in the area of the navigation, maritime transport and other related sectors. This guaranteed a formation and training in direct connection with the reality of the sector.
