The Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering is an official qualification with a professional orientation, aligned with the competencies established by Orden CIN/311/2009. It therefore qualifies graduates to practice the regulated profession of Industrial Engineer.
It is taught at the School of Polytechnic Engineering of Ferrol (EPEF). The EPEF was established in 2021 as a result of the merger of the city’s two engineering schools—the Higher Polytechnic School and the University Polytechnic School—both of which have more than 50 years of experience in engineering education.
The degree is awarded after completing 120 ECTS credits, of which 90 correspond to the core content required by Order CIN/311/2009. The remaining 30 credits consist of elective courses grouped into five specializations, from which students must choose two. The curriculum includes mandatory industry internships as well as optional placements within research groups.

The Industrial Engineer profession enjoys strong support from both industry and society in Spain, and its broad, generalist training is highly valued. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education, it is one of the professions with the highest employability rates. The latest employment data from the Occupational Observatory of the University of A Coruña confirms this: two years after graduation, Industrial Engineering graduates from this university have an employment rate of 85%, with 35% holding permanent contracts.
The generalist training provided by the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering expands the competencies of graduates from the Industrial Engineering field, particularly in management and in industrial technologies beyond their original specialization. Internships in companies are guaranteed thanks to collaboration agreements with more than 50 companies.
The degree is taught at the Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería de Ferrol. Its relatively small size allows it to offer students closer and more personalized attention. The campus is located in the city center, and the Campus Industrial de Ferrol initiative has recently been launched to establish it as a highly prestigious benchmark in the industrial sector.
